Charles McDowell Obituary, Death – The departure of Mr. Charles McDowell is something that we announce with a great deal of sorrow and heaviness in our hearts. We are also providing the following information on his burial arrangements:
Chic McDowell, who was 57 years old at the time of his untimely death on February 9, 2024, was known to many as the “Baldyman.” He went away without warning and unexpectedly when he was on vacation in Egypt.
On March 13, 1966, Chic McDowell was born to Madge and Harry McDowell, who have now passed away. She was one of eight children in the McDowell family. As well as being a grandfather to Chloe and Aliyah, he was a father to children named Franny, Martyn, Lisa, Craig, Debbie, and Vicky. Chic was born in Chapelhall, but he spent a significant portion of his life in Townhead. After that, he moved to Paisley for a period of time, and then he went back to Coatbridge.

More recently, he relocated to Kilmarnock. Chic’s life began in Townhead. Numerous others referred to Chic as having a personality that was bigger than life, characterized by his wild and wacky remarks, and describing him as having “some character.” He worked at the roadsurfacing firm Firedstone Ltd., where he was known for his dedication and hard labor. His children referred to him as a “workaholic” since he was present at his place of employment seven days a week.

His work was a significant component of his life. Chic was also a huge admirer of the Rangers, and he took his son Martyn to many of the Rangers’ home games at Ibrox Stadium. In 2022, Chic even traveled to Seville to see the Rangers play.
At ten o’clock in the morning on Thursday, February 29th, Chic will depart from the residence of his children’s family, which is located on Lomond Road in Townhead.

He will then make his way to the Coats Funeral Home, where a celebration of life will take place at ten thirty. After that, the cortège will go to the Daldowie Crematorium for a brief ceremony of committal.
