Chris Rock (born Christopher Julius “Chris” Rock III in Andrews, South Carolina on February 7 , 1965) is a comedian, producer and actor who rose to fame as a cast member on Saturday Night Live in the ’90s — as part of the “Bad Boys of SNL.” However, he landed his first movie role was in the 1987 film, Beverly Hills Cop. In ’94, he starred in Big Ass Jokes, his first HBO comedy special, which won him two Emmys. He won his third Emmy following his fifth HBO special, Kill the Messenger, which aired in ’08. He has hosted many awards, like the MTV VMAs (three times), the Academy Awards, and the BET Awards.
