The Spanish singer and songwriter gained her hype from the second album for which she won her first Grammy Award and became the first Spanish to won it. Rosalia was born on 25th September 1993, in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain with name Rosalia Vila Tobella. She holds the Spanish nationality and belongs to mixed ethnicity.

She is one of two kids of Jose Manuel Vila (father) and Pilar Tobella (mother). She was along with her sister Pilar Villa Tobella in Catalonia. 

She began her musical career at the age of 16 at the Taller de Musicis in Spain. She studies at the Raval School and later was transferred to the Catalonia College of Music and completed her studies.

In 2016, she collaborated with Spanish rapper C. Tangana and released the song in 2016. The song became a sleeper hit and also include in Spanish Single Chart in 2018. In 2016, she along with Raul Refree started working on duet album . Which eventually released on 10th February 2017.

Her second album was released on 2nd November 2018. She collaborated with J Balvin and Pharrell William in the album. The album was written by her and co-produced by El Guincho. For her song, she was nominated for Best New Artist and won Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album at Grammy award for . She became the first Spanish language artist to won Grammy in 2020.
